FC Cincinnati 2 have signed Brazilian forward Guilherme (Gee-le AIR may) Santos to an MLS NEXT Pro contract, the club announced today. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Santos, 22, joins the Orange and Blue from Atlético Mineiro B after spending the last four seasons on loan with various Brazilian clubs including Avaí FC, Red Bull Bragantino B, Esporte Clube Vitória and, most recently, Villa Nova Atlético Clube.
At Villa Nova Atlético Clube, Santos made seven league appearances in the Campeonato Mineiro where he scored two goals through the first four matches of the season. In the 2024 Copa do Brasil, the country’s domestic club knockout tournament, Santos helped Villa Nova advance out of the First Round with a match-winning goal against Associação Atlética Aparecidense.
In addition to Santos’ contributions in the Campeonato Mineiro and Copa do Brasil, the Serra, Brazil native made 34 total appearances spanning across the Brazilian Série A, Série B and Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior (Copinha). From 2020-24, Santos scored six goals, added two assists and logged over 2,000 minutes across all competitions.
