Arquimides Ordoñez has been called up to the Guatemalan U-20 National Team as the country prepares for the 2023 U-20 World Cup, scheduled to begin this May, the Guatemalan Football Federation announced Thursday. Ordoñez will train with the team from Sunday, April 16 through Thursday, April 20. The training camp will take place in Guatemala.
Ordoñez was instrumental in helping the U-20s qualify for the 2023 U-20 World Cup by leading the team to the semifinals of the CONCACAF U-20 Championship. Ordoñez scored five goals in six appearances and was the only player in the competition to score in all three group stage matches.
The dynamic forward has showcased his ability to find the back of the net through FC Cincinnati 2’s first three matches of the MLS NEXT Pro season. Ordoñez has appeared in two matches for FCC 2, scoring four goals, tied for a league high, and leading the Orange and Blue to a Matchday 1 win against Toronto FC II.
The Orange and Blue take on St. Louis CITY SC at CITYPARK. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET (7:30 p.m. CT) and will be broadcast live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. For all the details on how to watch the game and follow along this Saturday, visit How To Watch HERE.
