FC Cincinnati made its first donation to youth athletics in the West End on Wednesday, June 27, when the professional soccer club provided the West End Lil' Senators youth football team with new, safer helmets and football gear.

Gathered at Laurel Park, just blocks away from the club's future Major League Soccer stadium, club representatives Mark Mallory and Omar Cummings presented Lil' Senators coach Nick Johnson and his players with the new equipment alongside former Ohio State football player Ron Tanner, now with the equipment company Zenith.

The Lil' Senators have been providing pee wee football programs for young athletes 4-12 in the West End for 32 years. Much of the equipment the players were using prior to the donation were upwards of 15 years old.

This contribution represents the first of many forthcoming donations as FC Cincinnati affirms its commitment to youth athletics in the West End ahead of the club's arrival in the neighborhood in 2021.
