FC Cincinnati have extended the loan of defender Yerson Mosquera from English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers FC through the end of the 2023 MLS season, the club announced today.
Mosquera has made 16 regular season appearances, all starts, with the Orange and Blue. He has scored two goals for FC Cincinnati, including the game-winner on April 1 against Inter Miami CF in the 1-0 home win. His team-high 35 interceptions are tied for fourth-most in MLS this season.
Mosquera earned a senior call-up with the Colombian National Team for friendlies in the FIFA June international window. He has made four youth appearances with his country.
The 22-year-old signed with Wolves in June 2021 on a five-year deal from Atlético Nacional of Categoría Primera A, Colombia’s top flight, and made his debut with the Wolves first team in the Third Round of the Carabao Cup against Tottenham Hotspur in September 2021.
