FC Cincinnati have loaned goalkeeper Paul Walters to Hartford Athletic for the duration of the 2024 season, the clubs announced today. The Homegrown Player and former FC Cincinnati Academy player will join Joey Akpunonu in Hartford, with the Orange and Blue retaining the right to recall Walters this year.
On Jan. 20, 2023, Walters, 19, signed as a Homegrown Player after playing one year at Northwestern University, becoming the sixth former FCC Academy player in club history to sign a first team contract with the Orange and Blue. He started 18 games for FC Cincinnati 2 last season, picking up two clean sheets which included a career-high eight saves against Chicago Fire FC 2 on July 9.
TRANSACTION: On March 8, 2024, FC Cincinnati loan goalkeeper Paul Walters to Hartford Athletic for the duration of the 2024 season. FC Cincinnati retain the right to recall Walters.
