FC Cincinnati have signed goalkeeper Evan Louro to a two-year contract extension that will run through the end of the 2025 season, the club announced today.
Louro, 27, joined the Orange and Blue in August 2022 from the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the USL Championship. He played for two seasons with the Rowdies, winning Goalkeeper of the Year and the Golden Glove Award in 2021 and he helped lead the Rowdies to back-to-back USL Championship Final appearances.
“We’re excited to be able to re-sign Evan,” said Chris Albright, FC Cincinnati General Manager. “He’s a talented goalkeeper who makes his teammates better each day, but also an invaluable character within our group. We look forward to his continued growth here in Cincinnati.”
Since arriving in Cincinnati, Louro has featured for FC Cincinnati 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, making 38 saves over 12 appearances, including a six-save performance in his first match with the club against Orlando City B last season.
“I’m thrilled to sign a new contract and stay with FC Cincinnati,” Louro said. “I’m so grateful to Chris Albright, Pat Noonan, and Paul Rogers for bringing me in and believing in me, because without them I wouldn’t be here. I want to continue to work hard to make sure their trust in me pays off.”
FC Cincinnati will host Philadelphia Union in an Eastern Conference Semifinal showdown at TQL Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at FCCincinnati.com/Tickets or by calling (513) 977-5425 (KICK). The match will broadcast exclusively on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
