FC Cincinnati and Tom Pettersson have mutually agreed to contract termination in order for the defender to pursue other professional playing opportunities.
The Trollhättan, Sweden native appeared in 19 games for the club, starting 17 throughout his career, including most recently on July 17 at CF Montréal. He logged 1,501 career minutes for the Orange and Blue upon joining the team on a free transfer on December 17, 2019.
“We want to thank Tom for his time spent with FC Cincinnati,” FC Cincinnati General Manager Gerard Nijkamp said. “We wish him all the best in his playing career in the future.”
FC Cincinnati will return to action this weekend at TQL Stadium to face D.C. United. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on WSTR 64, carried on the radio on ESPN1530, streamed regionally on fccincinnati.com/stream, out of market on ESPN+, while an audio stream will be available via the iHeartRadio app.
