Orange and Blue’s leading goal-scorer honored for his goal against Charleston
CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma’s goal against the Charleston Battery on Aug. 18 has been voted the United Soccer League’s Goal of the Week for Week 23, the USL announced today.
FCC’s leading goal-scorer recorded his second Goal of the Week of 2018 in spectacular fashion from just outside the 18-yard box to open the scoring for the home side in the 21stminute of play. Ledesma previously received the honor for his Week 14 goal against the Richmond Kickers.
On the year, Ledesma has recorded 11 goals and has added a USL-best 10 assists in 23 appearances. He became the first player in USL this season to record at least 10 goals and 10 assists when he tallied on Aug. 12 vs. Penn FC.
First-place FC Cincinnati (16-3-6, 54 pts.) concludes its two-match road trip in a contest against the Tampa Bay Rowdies (7-10-7, 28 pts.) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised live on WSTR 64 and streamed live on ESPN+.
