CINCINNATI – Two FC Cincinnati players have earned places on MLS’ Team of the Week presented by Audi. Defender Nick Hagglund earned a place on the Starting XI, while Kenny Saief drew a spot on the seven-player bench.
Both players had key roles in FCC’s 1-1 draw with Atlanta United FC on Sunday night in front of more than 70,000 fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and nationally on ESPN.
Hagglund led all players in the game with seven clearances and added two blocks – including a point-blank stop of 2018 MLS MVP Josef Martinez in the 45th minute – while compiling an 80.6 percent passing percentage.
Saief earned a place on the bench after producing a key performance in his MLS and FCC debut. In his 17-minute stint as a substitute, he delivered the assist on Roland Lamah’s game-tying goal in the 86th minute. That was among his perfect passing in Atlanta’s half of the field.
These are the players’ first appearances on the MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi in 2019.
FC Cincinnati will make their home debut as an MLS team at Nippert Stadium on Sunday, March 17, when the team hosts MLS Cup finalists Portland Timbers at 5 p.m. The match will be televised nationally live on FS1, streamed on FOX Sports GO and carried on the radio on WDJO.
