FC Cincinnati Academy product Kiano Casamalhuapa has been called to the El Salvador U-17 team ahead of the UNCAF U-17 tournament, taking place in Tegucigalpa, Honduras over the coming week.
Casamalhuapa and El Salvador will compete against other Central American countries and guest nations Cuba and Mexico. El Salvador are in Group A alongside Honduras, Cuba and Panama and will play their first match of the group against Panama on Oct. 17.
The tournament serves as preparation for the Concacaf U-17 Championship beginning in February of 2023. Semifinalists of the Concacaf Championship will earn a spot in the U-17 FIFA World Cup, taking place in Peru later in the year.
The games will be streamed on the Concacaf and FIFA app.
