Head Coach Alan Koch made three changes to FC Cincinnati’s starting lineup ahead of Friday night’s match against Real Salt Lake at Nippert Stadium. Here’s the starting XI:
Roland Lamah replaces Kekuta Manneh on the wing, while Victor Ulloa returns to the central midfield after started Caleb Stanko last game. Alvas Powell joins the backline after recovering from a late-week rib issue that kept him out of contention for the LAFC game. He steps into the lineup at right back, where Justin Hoyte covered last week.
About those changes
Both Lamah and Ulloa return to the starting lineup after coming on as substitutes at LAFC last Saturday night. Prior to last Saturday’s game, Lamah didn’t train full all week while recovering from a calf concern, while Koch opted to give Stanko his first MLS start.
As for Powell, the Jamaican right back will make his first start and appearance since the home opener against Portland Timbers – his former club. FCC won that match 3-0 on March 17. He had been available every game until last week’s late injury pulled him from the travel squad.
Injury updates
Left back Greg Garza will miss his second-straight game with a calf injury. On Thursday, Koch said Garza would likely miss the match against Salt Lake.
Right winger Emmanuel Ledesma is also unavailable for selection as he continues to recover and work his way back from a hamstring injury. He hasn’t played since his first MLS start on March 24 at the New England Revolution.
