Lineup Notes: Club Hosts Sporting KC
This is FC Cincinnati’s starting XI against Sporting:
Two changes to the lineup
Kenny Saief and Kendall Waston are back in the starting lineup. They replace Kekuta Manneh and Forrest Lasso.
Waston returns to the XI after missing two games to international duty against New England Revolution and a calf injury against the Philadelphia Union. Kenny Saief makes his second start this season, this time moving inside as a central midfielder.
Amaya, Manneh on the bench
Frankie Amaya is back on the bench against Sporting after his professional debut last weekend.
Additionally, Manneh isn’t in the starting lineup since the first game at Seattle Sounders FC after working through a minor knock this week.
Injury Updates
Goalkeeper Premysław Tytoń will miss a fifth-straight game. A right hamstring injury held him out for four matches, but he returned to full training this week and was in contention for a starting nod this week. However, on Friday night, he suffered a deep cut on his finger while cleaning a knife and needed several stitches to close the wound. As the one player on the field who needs his hands, that ruled him out of training yesterday and the squad today. As a result, Jimmy Hague returns to the bench this game.
Emmanuel Ledesma isn’t cleared to play as he continues to work back from a minor hamstring issue picked up late last week in training.
Manneh has a hip flexor issue that drew him out of last week’s game. He returned to full training late in the week, but isn’t yet cleared for a full game, so he drops to the bench as an option late for Head Coach Alan Koch.
Captain Waston
With his return to the squad, club captain Waston will once again wear the armband after Greg Garza had the honor the last two games in Waston’s absence.
