This is FC Cincinnati’s starting XI at the New England Revolution:
The club could rotate between a 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1, which is similar to the draw at Atlanta United FC and win against the Portland Timbers.
Four changes to the lineup
Greg Garza, Forrest Lasso, Emmanuel Ledesma and Kenny Saief replace Fanendo Adi, Allan Cruz, Alvas Powell and Kendall Waston in the starting lineup.
Before Sunday in New England, FC Cincinnati Head Coach Alan Koch had only made two changes to the starting lineup through three matches.
Five gone for international duty
The majority of lineup changes result from five FCC players currently playing for their national teams.
Cruz and Waston are with the Costa Rica National Team, while Darren Mattocks and Powell are with the Jamaica National Team. Frankie Amaya, who’s yet to play, is with the U.S. Under-20 National Team.
No Adi, No Tytoń
Adi will miss his first match of the 2019 season after injuring his left ankle in first-half stoppage time against Portland. He didn’t train this week.
Goalkeeper Przemysław Tytoń will miss his third-straight match due to a right hamstring injury. His participation this week was limited.
As a result, Ledesma will start for Adi, while Spencer Richey replaces Tytoń for the third-consecutive week.
First starts
All four of FC Cincinnati’s starting lineup changes are making their first MLS start for the Orange and Blue.
Lasso, Ledesma and Saief are making their first career MLS start.
Additionally, Lasso will become the fifth FCC player on the 2018 USL roster to feature for the MLS squad. Adi, Corben Bone, Richey and Ledesma have done so previously.
Bench rotation
As well as the starting lineup, Koch is also rotating his bench. Midfielders Fatai Alashe and Nazmi Albadawi are on the bench for the first time this season. Corben Bone and Eric Alexander, who started in the inaugural match at Seattle Sounders FC, return to the bench.
Garza captains Cincinnati
With Waston away with Costa Rica, Garza will captain FC Cincinnati against the Revolution. It’s the first time the armband has changed this season – and arrives in Garza’s first start with the club.
