Emery Welshman highlighted FC Cincinnati players on loan this past weekend when he scored in Forge FC’s 3-2 win over Pacific FC.
Here’s a full report on how Welshman and the other FCC players performed in the Canadian Premier League and USL Championship over the weekend.
Canadian Premier League update:
Emery Welshman
Position: Forward
Club: Forge FC
Result: 3-2 win against Pacific FC
Welshman made his second start for Forge FC since returning from the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup, where he played with Guyana. The return coincides with CPL’s start to its Fall Season.
In the second Fall Season match, the forward scored in the 54th minute after a counter attack. The goal was his first during the new season and second during league play in 2019. Welshman also has two assists since the CPL began its inaugural season earlier this year.
USL Championship
Hassan Ndam
Position: Defender
Club: Charlotte Independence
Result: 2-1 win against Saint Louis FC
Ndam didn’t make Charlotte Independence’s starting lineup or bench in the 2-1 win over Saint Louis FC. As for his club, the win pushed the Independence into a playoff position – 10th – and dropped Saint Louis to 11th. Charlotte is unbeaten in its last five matches.
Ben Lundt
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Louisville City FC
Result: 1-1 draw at Ottawa Fury FC
Lundt wasn’t included in the 18 and is recovering from surgery last month. That said, the German rookie is expected to return to match fitness soon. His last appearance was Louisville City FC’s 2-1 win over Loudoun County FC on June 8.
Nazmi Albadawi
Position: Midfielder
Club: North Carolina FC
Result: 1-0 loss at Birmingham Legion FC
The Palestinian international played his first match since June 22 this past weekend when he was a second-half substitute against Birmingham Legion FC in North Carolina FC’s surprising 1-0 road loss.
Albadawi played 29 minutes and completed 13 passes with a 69% passing accuracy. That percentage dropped slightly because he played multiple long balls to teammates throughout his appearance.
The loss was Albadawi’s first USL Championship appearance this season off the bench. His four previous appearances were all starts.
