Ben Lundt’s second-straight clean sheet headlined the performances of FC Cincinnati players on loan this past week in the Canadian Premier League and USL Championship.
Here’s a look at how the players fared:
USL Championship
Rashawn Dally
Position: Forward
Club: Memphis 901 FC
Result: MATCH POSTPONED/Recalled by FC Cincinnati
FCC recalled Rashawn Dally to their MLS roster on Monday afternoon after the Jamaican forward made 11 appearances for Memphis 901 FC.
Technically he made 12, but his last match against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC was postponed for a lightning delay after playing the first half. The match, which saw Dally get a yellow card in the 23rd minute, was abandoned and will be replayed from the start at a later date.
Of course, if Dally is still with Cincinnati, he won’t play the restarted match.
Ben Lundt
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Louisville City FC
Result: 0-0 draw against Saint Louis FC
After producing a clean sheet last week at Birmingham Legion FC, Lundt had another this past weekend in Louisville City FC’s 0-0 draw with Saint Louis FC.
Lundt made two saves in the match and now has four clean sheets this season. This is the first time in his professional career that the German goalkeeper has had back-to-back shutouts.
Hassan Ndam
Position: Defender
Club: Charlotte Independence
Result: 1-1 draw at Nashville SC
Hassan Ndam started and played the first half against Nashville SC, who will join MLS in 2020. The match was the Cameroonian’s third this past week.
He played 90 minutes against Loudoun United FC last weekend before another 120 minutes in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup second-round match against the Florida Soccer Soldiers last Tuesday, which Charlotte lost on penalties.
As for the match against Nashville, Ndam completed 70% of his passes and had one clearance.
Logan Gdula
Position: Defender
Club: Hartford Athletic
Result: 2-1 win at Loudoun County FC
In his first match since departing from Phoenix Rising FC, Logan Gdula was an unused in his new club’s win.
Once Gdula makes his debut for Hartford Athletic, it’ll mark his professional debut. He didn’t feature for Phoenix.
Tommy McCabe
Position: Midfielder
Club: North Carolina FC
Result: 0-0 draw against Birmingham Legion FC
Tommy McCabe was an unused sub for North Carolina FC, who have now gone three matches without a win.
The center midfielder has made eight appearances and has two goals from four shots.
Canadian Premier League update:
Emery Welshman
Position: Forward
Club: Forge FC
Result: 2-0 win at Valour FC
Emery Welshman didn’t play in the club’s win. He did receive good news Monday, however, when he was named to Guyana’s 40-player provisional roster for the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. He could play for the Guyana National Team in their first major international competition next month.
