FC Cincinnati forward Kekuta Manneh underwent a successful surgical procedure on Wednesday to repair a labral tear in his right shoulder, the club announced Wednesday evening.
The procedure was performed on Wednesday morning by Dr. James Gregory at UT Physicians in Houston, Texas. The Bakau, Gambia, native is expected to be sidelined for approximately six months.
Manneh, 24, suffered the injury in the 12th minute of the club’s match against the Houston Dynamo on July 6. The forward had been rehabilitating since the initial injury, however, Manneh suffered an additional injury when he strained a hip flexor against Atlanta United FC on Sept. 18. Given the hip injury, it was determined to accelerate the timing of the required surgery ahead of the 2020 MLS regular season.
Manneh scored four goals and added three assists in 27 MLS regular-season appearances with the Orange and Blue this season.
