Brandon Vazquez and Luciano Acosta are part of the 26-man roster among the best of MLS to take on LIGA MX’s All-Stars for the 26th edition of the MLS All-Star Game.

FC CINCINNATI ALL-STAR BIOS
Luciano Acosta –
FC Cincinnati’s captain on July 12 was named the first All-Star in FCC history. The Argentine was a coach’s selection for the 2022 MLS All-Star Roster by Adrian Heath, Head Coach of the All-Star team and Minnesota United FC.

The Orange and Blue’s leader has produced a goal and/or an assist in all eight of FC Cincinnati’s wins this season. With his three-assist performance against Philadelphia Union this past Saturday, the first in club history, he catapulted back into the league-lead in assists (14).

In June he earned Player of the Month honors when he was recognized league-wide for his four goal contributions in just 137 minutes. A 2018 MLS Best XI selection with D.C. United, Acosta has 37 goals and 59 assists in his MLS career.

Acosta is the all-time FC Cincinnati leader with 24 assists in MLS competition, more than double any other player in FCC history.

Brandon Vazquez – It was later than Acosta’s selection, but Brandon Vazquez was named an All-Star on August 3 as a replacement for New York City FC’s Taty Castellanos. Vazquez, taking the league by storm, has scored the second-most goals in MLS this season at 14. None of his goals have come from the penalty spot, tied with Austin FC’s Sebastián Driussi for the most in that category.

Vazquez continues to reach new heights in club history. His 14 goals this season have long surpassed the club’s single-season record for goals (previously 8: Brenner, 2021). On Saturday against the Union, he became the first player in club history to hit the 20-goal mark for his FCC career.

Vazquez helped MLS earn a win in Tuesday night’s MLS Skills Challenge. As part of the 10-man MLS roster, his crossbar shot in Zone 1 advanced the MLS side to an eventual victory over LIGA MX.

Vazquez is back at Allianz Field where on May 7 his game-winner in the 93rd minute was the latest goal in club history and led the Orange and Blue to a stunning 1-0 win against Minnesota United FC.

David Garcia – On July 27, the FC Cincinnati Academy defender was named to the inaugural MLS NEXT All-Star East Team. He joins 44 other academy standouts, showcasing the best young talent in North America on the national stage.

The 45 players were chosen by the MLS NEXT Player Selection Committee, which is made up of key MLS Player Development department personnel, following the conclusion of the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase. Players must have been U-18 (born in 2004 or earlier) and have competed in one of the MLS NEXT national showcase events this season, including MLS NEXT Fest, MLS NEXT Flex, Generation adidas Cup, and MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase.

Garcia has earned 15 appearances, including 13 starts, with FC Cincinnati 2 in MLS NEXT Pro competition. He has tallied 21 interceptions and played all 90 minutes in each of FCC 2’s clean sheets this season.
