FC Cincinnati fell to CF Monterrey of Liga MX, 1-0, Thursday night at TQL Stadium in the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16. The two sides will meet in Monterrey next Thursday night in leg two at Estadio BBVA.
The Orange and Blue fell to 3-1-1 across all competitions this season. Monterrey remains perfect in Champions Cup through three matches.
Brandon Vazquez put CF Monterrey ahead early in his first matchup against his former team, which would provide enough for the victory. The former FCC striker scored in the 24th minute to put Monterrey up 1-0, as the club carried that lead into halftime and through the end of the game. Â Â
