FC Cincinnati dismissed Alan Koch from his head coaching duties on Tuesday morning. Yoann Damet will be the interim head coach.
So, who is Damet?
- Damet joined FC Cincinnati in March 2017. At the time, he was Koch’s first hire and became his first assistant coach. While the club’s coaching staff size has increased, Damet had continued being the No. 2 person.
- The Frenchman is 29 years old. Before Tuesday’s coaching change, he was already the youngest coach in MLS and one of only two who didn’t play soccer in college or professionally. He will be the youngest coach in the league serving as a head coach.
- Before joining the Cincinnati staff, he was the Montreal Impact Under-18 Head Coach. FC Cincinnati host the Impact on Saturday afternoon at Nippert Stadium for Damet’s first game as the interim coach.
